// Donor OpportunitiesInvest in the future of Berkshire County's educational systemThe Berkshire Wireless Learning Initiative was launched with $2 million in state funding, which requires matching funds from the private sector and the schools. To date, wireless networks have been installed in four school buildings, more than 2,300 laptops have been distributed to sixth, seventh, eighth grade students, and teachers, and professional development training is being provided to teachers on an ongoing basis. Additional support is needed to complete the three year pilot program. A donation of $1,200 supports one students’ participation in the program. A $30,000 donation will support one classroom’s participation in the program. All contributors are acknowledged on this website (see Local Business Partners section). In addition, donations of $1,200 and above will be acknowledged in advertisements in The Berkshire Eagle. |
